Jean Marcell Alberto Habib, 27 years old, Brazilian from São Paulo.
Open Source digital media researcher, artist and producer.

Actually works as open source multimedia coordinator at CCJ – Centro Cultural da Juventude Ruth Cardoso, and at MIS – Museum of Image and Sound as a interactive programmer.
Latest project involved hardware coding (wii-remote, arduinos, smells), live video stream from an MIS resident performer with more than 25 people watching it from internet from all over the world.
At CCJ the works are more into system administrative tasks, developing an free internet acess system and an renderfarm (computer cluster) for 3D projects.

Graduated at PUC-SP in Multimedia Communications at 2006 with a thesis on FLOSS Multimedia Productions as a social movement and government project. Performed as VJ on big festivals like BMF – Brazilian Music Festival and FILE-SP. Collaborate, since the beginning, on idealization of open projects such like EstúdioLivre.org, and the governmental “Pontos de Cultura” project from ministry of Culture.

Produced many interactive installations and ambients using just open source and recycle methods. Is very active into social projects, game development, streaming events, video editing and research into open hardware interfaces.
Colaborates at Zion – Manchester’s “Ponto de Cultura” – sharing about the Brazilian methods with open source software and media production at “Pontos de Cultura”.
Workshops in Brazil, Spain, England and Holand about all this.
